Workshops & Events
Here, you will find information on my upcoming workshops and live sessions. Unless otherwise noted, these take place at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta.
If you’re interested in having me facilitate a workshop or give a talk, I’d be delighted to discuss the details.
Conversation Pieces
Wednesday | November 5 | 12:00–12:30 p.m.
We’ll spend 30 minutes looking closely and discussing one artwork. No experience necessary! This program takes place on the first Wednesday of every month.
If you can’t make it in person, you can attend the virtual conversation from 2:00-2:30pm.

Introduction to Improvisational Quilting
Thursdays | August 28 – September 18, 2025 | 1:30–4 p.m.
Join me for a playful and creative journey through improvisational quilting, exploring the medium without rules, patterns, or perfection. Discover your creative rhythm through free-form piecing, spontaneous composition, and color exploration. Working with fabric scraps, learn to embrace imperfection and celebrate the unexpected while creating your own quilt top. Draw insight and inspiration from both historic and contemporary quilts in the museum’s collection, connecting your process to a vibrant legacy of innovation and storytelling through cloth.
Introduction to Natural Dyeing
Tuesdays | October 7 – October 28, 2025 | 1:30–4 p.m.
Explore how plants, minerals, and other natural materials can be used to dye fabric with rich, layered, and often unexpected results. Learn foundational dyeing techniques and experiment with color, pattern, and texture as you create a series of dyed textile samples. Along the way, connect your creative process to artists and traditions highlighted in the museum’s collection, discovering how people across time and cultures have used natural dye to tell stories, preserve heritage, and celebrate the beauty of the natural world.
Exploring Surface Design on Fabric
Thursdays | October 9 – November 13 | 1:30–4 p.m.
Define your artistic voice within richly layered textile works, and create expressive textile wall hangings that tell personal or collective stories. Draw inspiration from fiber artists in the museum’s collection while experimenting with vibrant techniques like direct painting with fabric paint and dye pastes, stamping, mark making, and stitching, both by hand and machine.
